Super excited about the show with my friends! Integrative Nurse Practitioner Melanie Dorion and Dr. Robert Abbot about their functional medicine training platform Pentad Integrative Health. They recently released their first module on digestive health and we give a nice overview about the way they plan to train future practitioners.

They are kindly offering a scholarship open to Naturopathic Students to get their first module for free! So, if you are an ND student stick around until the end of the episode to take advantage of this opportunity!

Finally, I have some great news! I was selected to present at PFX for the second year in a row! If you haven’t got your tickets click on the link below! I can’t wait to see you in Austin!

Rob Abbott MD is currently completing his residency in VA. He approaches medicine from an evolutionary and functional perspective and he sees mindfulness and unified spirituality as a way of being. He seeks to promote self care and resilience in health science students through the practices of mindfulness, yoga, compassion and spirituality.

Melanie’s approach is grounded in nursing, Functional and Naturopathic medicine philosophies. She studied Naturopathic Medicine at Bastyr University in Washington before doing her Nurse Practitioner degree at Seattle University. She is a member of the Obesity Medicine Association and the Institute for Functional Medicine and has received advanced training in obesity management, nutrition, exercise science and methylation genetics. She is a former professional cyclist and Quebec cycling Hall of Fame inductee.

Melanie is currently leading the clinical education and training program called Pentad Integrative Health and practices functional medicine with Downtown Family Health Care in Charlottesville, Virginia.
